Introduction

This application form is for Health and Wellbeing (HWB) Champions who wish to apply for the nationally funded Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement qualification.

NHS England is working with the RSPH to provide 750 places on this course for HWB Champions across the country. We will endeavour to ensure that Champions are represented from all seven NHS England regions, with at least one Champion per Integrated Care System (ICS).  We will be offering the option of both virtual and face to face learning, with cohorts running from September 2022 – March 2023.

The training course is equivalent to one day of learning and colleagues would be offered the choice of delivery either in a classroom or by virtual sessions. All delegates will be required to complete an assessment at the end of the course to gain the qualification. For those attending virtually, this require the use of Google Chrome web browser.

Virtual - colleagues will have the option of virtual delivery over two half-days, or three three-hour sessions over MS Teams, including assessment through an eAssessment platform.

Face to face – colleagues will be required to attend a one day training course in person located in a suitable venue in your region (venues TBC, travel will need to be funded locally).

All successful delegates will be required to share their feedback on the training, to enable us to evaluate the value of the programme and influence whether we expand into further cohorts in the next financial year.

As this course requires a time commitment outside of your role, please ensure you have line manager approval to attend the course, prior to submitting your application.

Applications for this cohort will be open until all 750 places have been filled.

Applicants will be contacted via email to confirm their place on the course.
